EMFF JOINS 1% GROUP
20 September 2007

Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival has become the 700th member of the visionary environmental group, 'One Percent For The Planet'. Perhaps surprisingly, the EMFF is just the 2nd Scottish member of this group.

One Percent for the Planet is an international alliance of companies that recognize the true cost of doing business and donate 1% of their sales to environmental organizations worldwide. These donations are a bold statement of members' committment to the environment.

The charity was founded by the well-known mountaineer, Yvon Chouinard, who also founded outdoor clothing company, Patagonia.

As well as joining the group, the EMFF is upping its own environmental credentials by printing its programmes on recycled paper, and providing better facilities for recycling at the event itself.
