GOT A FILM?
INFORMATION FOR PRODUCERS

The EMFF is now seeking film submissions for the 2009 festival.

We are delighted to announce that there will be a £250 prize for the Tiso 'Best Film' Award, as judged by our panel of experts. There will also be a £150 prize for the Alien Rock Best Climbing Film and a £50 prize for the Go Fast People's Choice Award.

The closing date for entries for EMFF 2009 is 30 June 2009. Early entries are always appreciated!

Films can focus on any aspect of mountain life and culture, wilderness and adventure, and can be documentary or fiction.

We are especially interested in films focussing on all forms of climbing (particularly deep water soloing and big mountain climbing in the greater ranges), snowboarding, skiing, snowblading, mountain biking, BASE jumping, kayaking, surfing, BMX-ing, canoeing ... the list goes on.

Films do not need to be high budget action films! Any film depicting the adventure and spirit of the mountains or of nature will be considered. All films selected for screening are automatically entered into the competition for the 'Best Film Award'.

The 2008 festival offered the strongest line-up of films yet. Over 80 films were submitted, with entries coming from as far away as Alaska, Bhutan and South Africa, as well as Aviemore, East Lothian and Leith.

Ideally films should be a maximum of 30 minutes long although exceptional longer films will be considered. There is no minimum length for films. Films on all formats are accepted although copies should be submitted on VHS or DVD for the initial selection process. Our preferred format for screening at the festival itself is mini-DV.

If you have a film that you'd like to submit, please contact us for a film entry form.
