EVENING SHOW STARTS 7PM

The festival kicks off with a sizzling line up of films on the opening night, followed by a lecture by Chris Townsend.

This haunting film follows alpinist Mike Bearzi as he goes in quest of new routes undertaken in pure alpine style in the greater ranges of Alaska, Patagonia and the Himalayas.

Grit Kids (21 mins)
This World Premiere from the Hot Aches team follows the incredible Whittaker family, where the two 'grit' kids, having been encouraged to climb from a young age, are climbing E6 and E8 respectively, and still improving.

As the kids take on increasingly more dangerous routes, what effect does this have on the parents?

Lecture: Chris Townsend
Prolific writer and long-distance hiker Chris Townsend is the current President of the MCoS. In this presentation, however, he will reveal his other favourite past-time, ski touring, and share stories from adventures in Yellowstone National Park in the USA. For details, click here.
